To boil water and cook, a lot of wood is needed everyday. Every 2 months Nodar gets wood from the forest. Today, it's time to chop the big lumbs to smaller pieces so they fit in the stove. First you have to split the wood to obtain a size small enough to cut with an axe. The splitting happens with a big metal nail that you hammer in the wood, preferably on a weak spot so it splits sooner. Than comes the axing: firm hits in the weakest direction of the wood. The hardest part here is to always aim on the same spot...
Precision needed!
