Balu spends most of his time still under the house in a dark safe place, where Tuja feeds him and bites the flees out of his young fur. Balu is one of eight healthy pups, but seven of them where left in the woods by Sanata. Given back to nature you can say... This might seem cruel, but it's bare necessity. How could you potentially raise eight healthy pups when there is little food, you live completely remotes and new families for the puppies can't be found? For this reason, Tuja is very protective and we seldon see Balu's cute face.

He's the chosen one, because of his masculinity, to become the next farm boss.
